![]() The first two entries in the Wonder Woman trilogy were set in 19, respectively, but the final entry in the franchise will not be set in the past, instead during contemporary times. ![]() Batman with Adam West was more for a comical take on the original source material, even though green hornet was being produced by the same people at the time but had a more serious narrative than batman.Wonder Woman 3 Will Not Be Set In The Past Like The First Two Movies When it comes to TV shows from the early years in DCs case, There are some bad ones and some good ones, wonder woman was a good show but I can't say the same for Shazam or the Adventures of Superman with George Reeve in the later seasons (Seduction of the innocent was released around the time which prompted comic book publishers and TV show producers to censor some things a bit because the content of the book made all kinds of allegations that superman and other comic characters were to blame for their reader's unruly and dangerous behavior like jumping off the two story window with a cape etc). If you were to watch superman flight scenes from it's earlier seasons, you'll see that it's actually an animated segment because they didn't have the budget for flying scenes at the time, money was pretty tight and TV was a new medium that was seen as a gamble when we were transitioning away from radio. Taking a in depth look at it from today's prospective would tempt you to look for special effects flaws. The special effect were well done for their time. I guess it was a 70s thing where as today we can just binge watch them on netflix. But what I am getting at is that Green Hornet didn't have a lot of continuity to it either, there would be a plot that concluded in the episode that it started from and next week you can tune in for another story. Not to be outdone by batman, the hornet had a very unique way of tackling crime compared to the dark knight. It's attributes give you the feeling of the Green Hornet with bruce lee (which was also airing at that time). It is a great show, and well worth watching. While some comic book characters make their way to the television series (and Steve Trevor is the co-star), for the most part the TV series is it's own world. They don't unnecessarily focus on her body parts.īut if you're looking for television adaptations of her comic book stories, this isn't the place to look. They don't sexualize her or treat her like nothing more than a pretty lady. I keep thinking it will be more fan serve than I am looking for.ĭo you mean fan service? Wonder Woman is not a fan service show. ![]() They were designed this way so that you could come in at any week and watch her adventures without feeling like you've missed out on anything. Most of the episodes are one-and-done style stories with very little carry over between episodes. There's very little continuity to the series, and it largely takes a "monster of the week" style approach to story telling. But the show is very much a product of the times. She's strong, smart, and compassionate, all the things that Wonder Woman was meant to be. Lynda Carter is terrific as Wonder Woman (and Diana Prince). I'm only making this preface because there are some people that genuinely can't enjoy shows from the 70s (or earlier). As long as you're familiar with and can handle television shows from the era, it's great.
